Homeschool Social Skills/Feelings Management- Spring group will start April 15th, and is currently accepting new members. Group is open to elementary aged children who are homeschooled and who are a good fit. There are 6 slots open for this group, with previous group clients getting first choice. Each session involves one structured activity about social skills, followed by unstructured time for kids to play and practice their skills. The group meets weekly for 6 weeks, all on Fridays at noon. The charge for group is $40 per session for those paying out of pocket. For BCBS clients the cost will depend on your copay. For Wellcare and Amerigroup clients there is no copay.
Because group is about building relationships and trust and working on socialskills, consistency is imperative. I understand that kids get sick (boo!) or families travel (yay!) but attendance is important for group to be effective. I require a commitment to attend at least 4 of the 6 scheduled groups. If you are interested in your child participating, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to set up an intake appointment before group starts. This group is closed, meaning no new members may be added once this session starts. *Note: if you're looking for a social skills group for kids who aren't homeschooled, email me and I can put you in touch with Bethany Rogers, who is doing that group.
Whoa Mama Support Group- This monthly group takes place on the third Thursday at 12:30 at reBlossom Mama Baby Shop on Milledge Ave. It's a support group for bluesy (and not so bluesy) moms. We talk about a different topic related to the challenges of parenting each month. Click here for the facebook page and some of the articles we've discussed. There are usually a lot of babies and a lot of laughter. Join us! It's free.
Below is some information about baby blues, PPD, PPA, and PPP. Most of the stats you see here are likely higher since some women don't report their symptoms or don't realize they have them.
